TESTIMONIALS

April 21, 2006 - As a Pilates trainer and fitness professional with a career spanning nearly two decades, I consider the relationship I have, working in conjunction with Kristin using Muscle Activation Techniques, to have been of great benefit for me and the clients I refer to her for help. Together, we have been able to identify and correct difficulties that were preventing clients from being able to get the most out of their Pilates program.

StretchPilates can be a form of muscle activation itself, particularly when speaking about the deep, intrinsic “fine tuner” muscles that we utilize in the method – that is as long as the client’s mind is successful at getting his/her body to “do” what is being asked of it. But when clients need more than just the visual and tactile cueing I provide in our sessions together, I send them to Kristin to be tested and get their isometric “prescription.” I discuss with her what I have seen (or not seen) in my client’s movement patterns and make some suggestions as to the possible cause. She then goes to work, discovering the client’s muscle weaknesses and provides a formula for helping to revive them. It helps me augment their subsequent Pilates sessions, as well, because I can place additional focus on engaging the muscles that she has “activated.”

There is a symbiotic relationship that can be established between a Pilates trainer (or any personal trainer) and a qualified Muscle Activation practitioner – and I certainly have that with Kristin. Working as a team, we have been able to restore and establish the proper neuromuscular pathways that help keep our clients’ bodies in greater balance. Every trainer who has an opportunity to work with a MAT professional should do so; it will benefit your clients and your practice, too.

August, 31, 2005 - I went from 8 weeks of ankle pain…..To running 45 minutes on a treadmill just a week later!!! True story ….I moderately sprained my ankle, not an uncommon thing, right…But the problem was it was taking so long to heal. Eight weeks later after ice, anti-inflammatory medications--not to mention the pain killers, I went to my doctor, Dr. Bradley Bongiovanni. His diagnosis was that, “ I had some week muscles around the ankle that are not holding up and I may be over using and straining the muscles that are trying to compensate for those that are not working properly.” He concluded with, “Your ankle needs to be examined by a muscle activation therapist.”

He sent me to Kristin Menapace, a Muscle Activation Therapist, M.S., She was outstanding, after just 2 treatments in just one week; I was back on the treadmill for 45 minutes. The best part--the ankle was stable and all my muscles were again working together. I had no discomfort at all. I was so impressed with her service that a few weeks later I went to see her again for another problem.

I was on vacation at the beach, I had strained my neck and I was having trouble turning my neck from side to side. The local Urgent Care facility prescribed the usual pain killers and anti-inflammatory medications. When I got back in Atlanta 4 days later I was still feeling uncomfortable and the medications were really not that effective. It was amazing that in one treatment, my range of motion was back. She is amazing. I would highly recommend Kristin Menapace, she has truly helped me to 'Get Back Into Action.'

May 5, 2006 - Dear Future MAT Client:
I have worked extensively with Kristin Menapace and the Muscle Activation Therapy technique. I have been so overwhelmed with the results from MAT that I have referred a large portion of my patient base to experience it. Kristen is highly proficient, skillful, and well-versed in the anatomy and physiology that is needed to treat every patient. I am so confident in her abilities as a therapist that I am a regular client and will continue to refer not only athletes, but patients that suffer from low-back, neck, and other musculoskeletal injuries that typically do not get relief from conventional methods.

Good morning Kristin!! Wow!! All I can say is WOW!!! I feel 100% better, especially my neck!...Even my chiropractor noticed the difference when she adjusted me on Monday...

Kristin...I can't believe how much better my shoulder got after just one treatment. The next morning, I noticed a distinct improvement and as the day wore on, it got even better. Sunday morning, however, about 36 hours post-treatment, the improvement was really dramatic...

I decided to try MAT when my doctor suggested that I have surgery for my carpel tunnel symptoms. After a few sessions with Kristin, the pain and weakness were completely gone. She also provided me with easy exercises to keep the symptoms at bay. MAT provided a simple noninvasive cure and saved me from worrying about how I was going to recover from surgery and take care of my baby.

I went to Muscle-Motion & Wellness for help with my Carpal Tunnel. It was so bad that I thought I may need surgery.
After my first MAT session with Kristin, I felt immediate relief. MAT really works - I'd recommend anyone in pain to try it. It's definitely worth it...
